Also known as the "people's tea", this type of tea was originally consumed by poor Japanese people that used roasted brown rice as a filler to reduce the price of the tea. Our genmaicha is a smooth, slightly savory blend of organic bancha green tea, popped corn and toasted hulled rice kernels. Once brewed, the tea takes on a golden color and a slight nutty flavor.
